St. Cloud sits beautifully in the middle of everything! An hour from Minneapolis, an hour from the lakes, and close to the towns where a good share of your guest list grew up. It's one of the easiest places in Minnesota to get everyone in the same room on the same weekend.
The city gives you more than convenience. Munsinger and Clemens Gardens run right along the Mississippi. Quarry Park has granite cliffs and swimming holes. Downtown has brick buildings with a hundred years on them. The Regency, River's Edge, and Blackberry Ridge in Sartell all sit within a few miles of each other.
Your photographs should carry the whole day, not only the parts that were scheduled.

A Minnesota wedding photographer who believes the best wedding photographs are about more than a beautiful venue. They're about preserving the feeling of the day, the people who showed up for it, and the moments you never want to forget.
That's part of why I love photographing weddings in St. Cloud. So many of them start in a church. The Cathedral of St. Mary, the abbey church in Collegeville, a parish your family has belonged to for three generations. A full Mass has its own rhythm, and photographing one well means knowing where to stand, when to move, and when to stay completely still.
After years of photographing weddings throughout Minnesota, I've learned to work inside the day instead of around it. Long ceremonies. A short window of good light. Twenty minutes of drive time between the church and the reception.

The wedding day can sometimes go by in a blur, and you’re not always able to spend time with all of your guests. Adding rehearsal dinner coverage is the perfect way to have your time with your guests captured. You can expect a ton of detail and candid photos, group and family photos, and even some couple portraits in your rehearsal dinner gallery. Up to 2 hours of coverage.

Yes. Both gardens are city parks and require a permit through St. Cloud Parks and Recreation. Photography sessions run about $35 for St. Cloud residents and $45 for non-residents for groups under 12, and ceremony reservations are higher. Clemens Gardens has its own permit and a strict 12 person cap, and the Virginia Clemens Rose Garden is closed to photography entirely.
I help my couples sort this out during planning so nobody gets turned away on the wedding day. Confirm current fees with the city, since they change seasonally.

Munsinger Gardens for shade and river light, Clemens Gardens for structured backdrops, and Quarry Park in Waite Park for granite walls and open sky in the evening. Downtown St. Cloud has brick and stone worth 10 minutes if your timeline allows. St. John's Abbey in Collegeville is 20 minutes west and unlike anything else in Minnesota!

Yes, and they are some of my favorites! Snow on the quarry walls and early sunsets make for a completely different look.
Winter dates also tend to have more availability and I plan the timeline around the light we actually get.

Not at all. It is the most common setup in St. Cloud. A church ceremony downtown or in Collegeville, then a reception at The Regency, River's Edge, or Blackberry Ridge.
I plan for the drive time and I have never made a couple late to their own cocktail hour.

Yes, and I do it for every couple. Sunset in St. Cloud runs from about 4:30pm in December to just after 9:00pm in late June, and your portrait window depends entirely on that. I will tell you exactly when we need to step outside!
